Abstract

Este trabalho versa a respeito da perspectiva dos direitos dos animais domésticosno ordenamento jurídico brasileiro, mais especificamente, da sua proteção, dignidade estatus de objeto de direito ou sujeitos de direito. Aborda, também, discussõescontemporâneas que vêm se tornando de suma relevância social, tais como a guardacompartilhada de bichos de estimação no âmbito do direito civil brasileiro, bem como otransporte aéreo de pets em voo nacionais; a compra e venda de cães e gatos e, inclusive,a possível criação de um ‘SUS’ voltado para os animais domésticos e como isso refletiriana sociedade e nas famílias brasileiras que possuem um animal domesticado.Dessa forma, com a crescente importância dada a esses animais pelos seus tutores,se faz necessário o levantamento de reflexões acerca de sua função social e seu futurocomo ‘coisa’ ou como ser senciente, com ênfase na legislação brasileira e sua implicaçãono contexto atual, trazendo alterações necessárias para que se combata as problemáticasque cercam o assunto atualmente de forma eficiente.
