Abstract

Corruption is a major challenge, especially in developing countries, which has a significant impact on the economy and politics. In Indonesia, this corruption problem has long occurred with one of the important points being the establishment of the Corruption Eradication Commission, and currently the independence of the Corruption Eradication Commission is actually decreasing. This article draws one formulation of the problem, namely how are the dynamics of the economy and politics in the grip of corruption in Indonesia? Through empirical research methods and theoretical approaches. The results of this analysis indicate that corruption has a very negative impact on the Indonesian economy and politics, damaging the economic structure, exacerbating social inequality, and weakening democracy and public trust. To overcome this, laws such as the Corruption Eradication Law, the State Finance Law, and the Election Law are important in creating a transparent and accountable government. Strengthening the mechanism for preventing and eradicating corruption is concluded to be able to improve economic and political conditions, as well as provide greater benefits to society. ___ Referensi Books with an author: Klitgaard, R. Review

This article, "Dinamika Ekonomi dan Politik dalam Pusaran Korupsi Indonesia," addresses a profoundly relevant and critical issue concerning the pervasive impact of corruption on Indonesia's socio-economic and political landscape. The abstract effectively highlights corruption as a persistent challenge, notably pointing to the recent decrease in the independence of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), which provides a timely and pressing context for the research. The central objective is clearly articulated: to analyze the intricate dynamics between corruption, the economy, and politics in Indonesia, aiming to unveil its multifaceted consequences and propose pathways for mitigation. The paper's focus on Indonesia, where corruption is a deep-seated problem, renders its inquiry particularly pertinent for both local policymakers and the broader academic understanding of governance challenges in developing nations. The paper makes several important contributions by clearly articulating the severe negative impacts of corruption. It highlights how corruption fundamentally damages economic structures, exacerbates social inequality, and systematically weakens democratic institutions alongside public trust. These findings, while reinforcing established knowledge, crucially underscore their specific manifestation and intensity within the Indonesian context. The abstract commendably moves beyond mere problem identification to offer concrete, policy-oriented recommendations, emphasizing the importance of robust legal frameworks such as the Corruption Eradication Law, State Finance Law, and Election Law. The call for strengthening corruption prevention and eradication mechanisms is a crucial and actionable insight, promising improved economic and political conditions and greater societal benefits. The accompanying bibliography, featuring both classic and contemporary works, suggests a potentially strong theoretical and empirical foundation for these arguments. Despite its valuable contributions, the abstract leaves several areas for potential enhancement. The methodological description, stating "empirical research methods and theoretical approaches," is notably vague and lacks specificity. A clearer outline of the research design, including the type of empirical research conducted, data sources, and analytical techniques employed, would significantly strengthen the paper's scientific rigor and allow readers to better assess the validity of its findings. Furthermore, while the impacts of corruption are well-stated, the abstract could benefit from delving deeper into the *dynamics* promised by the title, rather than primarily listing static consequences. Exploring the specific mechanisms and evolving interplay between economic pressures, political maneuvering, and corruption's persistence—especially in light of the diminishing KPK independence—would add more novelty and analytical depth. Elucidating *how* the proposed legal and institutional strengthening would specifically overcome these entrenched dynamics and political hurdles would also enhance the practical utility of the recommendations.
