This paper proposes a compelling analysis of Raduan Nassar's *Lavoura arcaica*, focusing on the intricate relationship between spatial organization and antagonistic power discourses within the novel. The title, "Arquitetura e vontade de poder," effectively frames this ambitious inquiry, suggesting a deep exploration of how physical environments are not merely backdrops but active participants in the construction of power dynamics. The abstract highlights the critical role of spatial analysis for a comprehensive understanding of the narrative, underscoring the interdisciplinary nature of the research, bridging literary studies with concepts of architecture and power. The methodology outlined is robust, asserting a "total integration" between space, man, language, and narrative articulation – a foundational premise that promises a nuanced reading. The authors skillfully leverage key theoretical frameworks: Mircea Eliade's notions of sacred and profane, chaos and cosmos, and the supernatural, alongside Gaston Bachelard's phenomenology of space. These established lenses are employed to meticulously unpack the symbolic constitution of various "Houses" within the novel, specifically the father's house, the old house, and André's boarding room. The aim to identify commonalities and distinctions across these spaces suggests a comparative and detailed analysis that will reveal the multilayered symbolic meanings embedded in the narrative's architecture. By focusing on these "scenographic" incursions, the paper promises to offer significant insights into how the physical environment shapes character identity, interpersonal relationships, and the broader thematic concerns of *Lavoura arcaica*. The proposed study's strength lies in its meticulous attention to detail and its rigorous theoretical underpinning, which together should illuminate previously underexplored aspects of the novel. This approach is likely to deepen our understanding of Nassar's work, providing a valuable contribution not only to literary criticism but also to the broader field of spatial humanities, demonstrating how literary architecture actively participates in the philosophical and power struggles depicted.
