Sistem presensi magang secara manual di Fakultas Teknik dan Ilmu Komputer Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Indonesia (Unusia) kerap menimbulkan masalah manipulasi data dan ketidakakuratan pencatatan aktivitas harian. Menanggapi masalah tersebut, penelitian ini berfokus pada perancangan dan pembangunan aplikasi presensi magang berbasis Android dengan fitur GPS tracking. Proses pengembangan aplikasi ini menggunakan metode Rapid Application Development (RAD), yang menekankan iterasi cepat dan partisipasi pengguna untuk menghasilkan prototipe fungsional secara efisien. Aplikasi yang dihasilkan dilengkapi fitur lengkap seperti pencatatan dan rekap kehadiran secara real-time, pengajuan izin cuti, unduh template laporan magang, serta validasi presensi dan izin cuti oleh pembimbing lapangan. Untuk menjamin kualitas dan penilaian pengguna, beberapa pengujian komprehensif dilakukan. Pengujian ini menggunakan black box testing untuk validasi fungsionalitas dan System Usability Scale (SUS) untuk mengukur kemudahan penggunaan. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan tingkat akurasi penerimaan pengguna sebesar 82,00% yang menyatakan adanya persetujuan dan penerimaan yang kuat terhadap aplikasi yang dikembangkan untuk mengindikasikan bahwa aplikasi ini efektif meningkatkan efisiensi, akurasi pengelolaan data kehadiran mahasiswa magang, dan meminimalisir potensi manipulasi data.
This paper addresses a pertinent issue within academic institutions: the challenges associated with manual internship attendance systems, specifically highlighting data manipulation and inaccuracy at the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science, Unusia. The authors propose a timely and relevant solution: the design and development of an Android-based internship attendance application featuring GPS tracking. This initiative directly tackles the identified problems, aiming to streamline the process, enhance data integrity, and provide a more robust system for managing student intern attendance. The development of the application utilized the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method, which is well-suited for projects requiring quick iterations and strong user involvement to deliver functional prototypes efficiently. The resulting application boasts a comprehensive suite of features, including real-time attendance recording and recapitulation, a mechanism for submitting leave requests, the ability to download internship report templates, and a crucial validation system for both attendance and leave requests by field supervisors. These features collectively aim to provide a holistic solution that not only records attendance but also integrates other essential aspects of internship management. To ensure the quality and user acceptance of the developed application, a series of comprehensive tests were conducted. Black box testing was employed to validate the functional aspects, while the System Usability Scale (SUS) was used to quantitatively assess the application's ease of use and overall user experience. The findings are promising, reporting an 82.00% user acceptance rate, which strongly indicates user satisfaction and approval. This high acceptance rate, coupled with the functional validation, suggests that the application effectively achieves its objectives of enhancing efficiency, improving the accuracy of intern attendance data management, and significantly minimizing the potential for data manipulation.
