Abstract

Fenomena variasi bahasa terjadi di perbatasan antara Jawa-Sunda dengan penekanan utama berdasarkan letak geografis yang saling berdekatan. Dalam penelitian ini, bahasa daerah tidak dibatasi persebarannya oleh letak geografis. Tidak dapat dipastikan bahasa daerah harus disesuaikan dengan daerah asalnya. Secara adminitrasi, Cilacap termasuk daerah Provinsi Jawa Tengah, namun ada di sebagian tempat yang masyarakatnya mengakui sebagai urang sunda. Hal tersebut membuktikan bahwa ada percampuran unsur geografis dan juga sumber historis yang sudah sangat melekat.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui asal usul keberadaan variasi bahasa, faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi lahirnya variasi bahasa, persebaran variasi bahasa berdasarkan tataran fonologis, letak geografis hingga aspek budaya dan sosial. Metode yang digunakan adalah model PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and MetaAnalysis) dengan diagram flowchart dan SLR. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat variasi bahasa Sunda dan Jawa yang bisa dikaji berdasarkan fonologis dibeberapa kecamatan khususnya di Kabupaten Cilacap, selain itu terdapat akulturasi budaya yang menyebabkan bahasa di perbatasan Jawa-Sunda mengharuskan beradaptasi yang kemudian menghasilkan ciri khas bahasa yang unik. Beberapa penelitian telah dilakukan sejak awal hingga di saat-saat ini dilakukan penelitian kembali untuk melihat apakah perubahan alami geografis memengaruhi persebaran dan penggunaan bahasa daerah itu sendiri. Dari keberagaman ini menjadikan wilayah Cilacap memiliki keanekaragaman budaya yang diharapkan dapat terus dilestarikan untuk identitas budaya lokal.

The "results" presented, which describe the existence of Sundanese and Javanese variations based on phonology in specific Cilacap sub-districts and cultural acculturation leading to unique linguistic features, appear to be findings that would typically emerge from primary data collection, such as sociolinguistic interviews, phonetic analysis, or ethnographic observations. This fundamental mismatch between the stated methodology and the described research objectives and outcomes casts doubt on the feasibility and appropriateness of the approach. Despite the methodological discrepancy, the core research questions and the identified phenomenon are highly relevant and merit in-depth investigation. To strengthen this study, a thorough re-evaluation of the methodology is crucial. If the intention is to conduct original linguistic research, alternative methods such as dialectometry, sociolinguistic surveys, phonetic analysis, and ethnographic fieldwork would be more suitable to achieve the stated objectives. If, conversely, the project genuinely aims to be a systematic review, then the abstract should clearly articulate its focus on synthesizing existing literature on language variation in the Java-Sunda border, and the "results" should reflect findings from a comprehensive review of studies, rather than new empirical observations. Clarifying this aspect is essential for the study's validity and for contributing effectively to the understanding of linguistic diversity and cultural preservation in the fascinating borderland of Java and Sunda.
