This study, titled "ANALISIS FITTING FACTOR PEMBUATAN JAS PRIA MENGGUNAKAN POLA SISTEM TAILOR DI ATAS KAIN PADA PENJAHIT AHLI JAS RIFKI MEDAN," addresses a highly practical and pertinent aspect of bespoke tailoring: the analysis of "fitting factors" in men's suits. The authors' objective is to gather data on the effectiveness of the tailor system pattern, specifically when applied directly onto fabric, in achieving an optimal fit. This focus on fitting factors—defined as critical points determining a garment's conformity to the wearer's body—is fundamental to the quality of tailored garments and offers insights directly relevant to expert tailors operating in real-world settings, as highlighted by its context within the Rifki Medan tailor shop. Methodologically, the research is descriptive, employing an observational instrument to evaluate the fitting factors of finished men's suits. The study's sample was relatively modest, comprising 5 men's suits, which were assessed by 3 independent observers. The findings indicate a predominantly positive outcome: 3 of the 5 suits (60%) were categorized as "Very Good," with the remaining 2 suits (40%) achieving a "Good" rating. The overall average assessment of the suit craftsmanship culminated in a "Very Good" category with a 90% rating. From these results, the authors conclude that the fitting factor analysis, using the tailor system pattern directly on fabric, is "Very Good" for accurately identifying the optimal fit points in men's suit production. While the study provides an initial exploration into the practical application of a specific tailoring method, several significant limitations restrict the broader impact and generalizability of its findings. The primary concern lies with the exceedingly small sample size of 5 suits and only 3 observers, which is insufficient for drawing statistically robust or widely applicable conclusions. Furthermore, the abstract mentions an "observation instrument" and subjective categories like "Very Good" or "Good" without detailing the specific criteria, objective measurements, or established inter-rater reliability checks used for these assessments. This lack of clear operationalization for "fitting factors" and their evaluation compromises the study's replicability and the confidence in its subjective ratings. Future research would greatly benefit from a larger, more diverse sample, a rigorously defined and quantifiable set of fitting factors, a transparent methodology for subjective assessment (e.g., using a detailed rubric and inter-rater agreement analysis), and potentially a comparative analysis with other patterning systems to provide a more comprehensive context for the reported outcomes.
