This paper addresses a highly relevant and timely topic concerning the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program within Indonesian higher education. The authors aim to tackle the challenge of varying business processes across different study programs participating in MBKM by proposing a method to quantify process similarity. The core contribution lies in utilizing the Jaccard Coefficient Similarity algorithm to analyze and identify commonalities among these diverse business processes, which is crucial for understanding and potentially harmonizing operational workflows. The methodology outlined involves a structured approach, commencing with the modeling of MBKM business processes using Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN). This initial step provides a standardized representation necessary for comparison. Subsequently, the Jaccard Coefficient Similarity is applied to measure similarity across semantic, structural, and behavioral dimensions of the processes. A key procedural step is the determination of "common fragments" by identifying intersections between compared process models. These identified commonalities are then re-modeled using BPMN to produce a generalized process model, exemplified by the detailed common model for "campus teaching," encompassing registration, execution, and conversion application stages. The paper presents a clear and practical application of established similarity measures to a contemporary problem in higher education administration. Its strength lies in the systematic approach of modeling, comparing, and then abstracting common process elements, providing a valuable tool for universities. While the abstract effectively outlines the methodology, a more detailed explanation of how Jaccard is specifically adapted to capture semantic, structural, and behavioral similarities would be beneficial for future iterations of this work. Nevertheless, this research offers a solid foundation for understanding process variations and could significantly aid in developing more standardized or interoperable MBKM programs across institutions, contributing to more efficient and harmonized educational experiences.
