Di zaman digitalisasi saat ini, perkembangan digital sudah menjadi hal yang pokok untuk seluruh masyarakat dalam berbagai aspek di dalam kehidupan. SMK Teknologi Karawang, sebagai lembaga pendidikan kejuruan, memerlukan sarana yang efisien untuk mendukung alumni dan siswa dalam mencari peluang kerja. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk merancang dan meningkatkan UI/UX website Bursa Kerja Khusus (BKK) di SMK Teknologi Karawang dengan menerapkan pendekatan Design Thinking. Metode ini terdiri dari lima tahapan utama: Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, dan Test. Pada tahap Empathize, dilakukan analisis mendalam terhadap kebutuhan pengguna, sementara tahap Define digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi serta merumuskan permasalahan inti. Proses Ideate menghasilkan berbagai solusi inovatif, yang kemudian diwujudkan dalam bentuk desain awal pada tahap Prototype. Selanjutnya, tahap Test memanfaatkan System Usability Scale (SUS) guna mengukur tingkat kepuasan pengguna. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa desain UI/UX website BKK memperoleh skor SUS sebesar 89,25 dari total 100, yang mencerminkan kepuasan pengguna yang sangat baik. Dengan demikian, pendekatan Design Thinking terbukti efektif dalam menghasilkan desain UI/UX yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan pengguna, serta layak untuk diterapkan. Penelitian ini berkontribusi dalam pengembangan sistem informasi berbasis web yang lebih efisien dan ramah pengguna, khususnya bagi institusi pendidikan kejuruan.
This paper presents a timely and relevant study on the development of a digital platform to enhance career opportunities for students and alumni of SMK Teknologi Karawang. In an increasingly digital world, the need for efficient web-based systems to connect vocational education institutions with the job market is paramount. The research clearly aims to design and improve the User Interface and User Experience (UI/UX) of the school's Bursa Kerja Khusus (BKK) website, a critical tool for supporting graduates and current students in their career pursuits. This focus on practical application within a specific educational context makes the study particularly valuable for vocational training institutions seeking to modernize their support systems. The methodology employed, Design Thinking, is a well-established and highly appropriate framework for user-centered design, and its systematic application is a strength of this work. The abstract outlines the five distinct phases—Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test—demonstrating a structured approach from understanding user needs to evaluating the final design. The "Empathize" phase involved deep user analysis, leading to well-defined problems in the "Define" stage. Innovative solutions were then generated during "Ideate" and materialized as initial designs in the "Prototype" stage. Crucially, the "Test" phase utilized the System Usability Scale (SUS), a robust metric for measuring user satisfaction. The impressive SUS score of 89.25 out of 100 provides strong empirical evidence of the high user satisfaction and effectiveness of the developed UI/UX design. The findings unequivocally underscore the efficacy of the Design Thinking approach in creating UI/UX designs that genuinely meet user needs, particularly within the vocational education sector. The successful development and positive evaluation of the BKK website at SMK Teknologi Karawang offer a compelling case study and a replicable model for other educational institutions facing similar challenges. This research not only contributes significantly to the body of knowledge on web-based information system development but also provides a practical blueprint for fostering more efficient and user-friendly digital platforms, ultimately empowering vocational students and alumni in their transition into the workforce.
