Abstract

Tämän puheenvuoron tarkoituksena on nostaa esiin toivo ja sen merkitys osana uraohjausta. Toivo ei synny vain toivomisesta, että asiat menisivät hyvin, vaan se vaatii aktiivista ja tietoista toimintaa. Toivokeskeinen teoria (Hope-Action Theory) on viitekehys, jota voidaan hyödyntää ura- ja koulutussuunnittelun tukena. Teorian keskiössä on toivo ja sitä vahvistavat kompetenssit (itsereflektio, itsetietoisuus, visiointi, suunnittelu ja tavoitteen asettelu, toteuttaminen ja mukauttaminen), joita voidaan arvioida ja kehittää uraohjauksessa. Toivokeskeisessä teoriassa myös ympäristöllä on tärkeä merkitys, sillä ohjattavan toimijuus ja kompetenssit muotoutuvat vuorovaikutuksessa muuttuvan elin- ja toimintaympäristön kanssa. Toivokeskeiseen teoriaan pohjautuvien menetelmien avulla voidaan vahvistaa ohjattavien tulevaisuususkoa ja toivoa, mikä on uran ja urasuunnittelun kannalta tärkeää. Toivokeskeinen teoria sopii niin uraohjaustilanteisiin, joissa mietitään, mikä nykytilanteessa on jo hyvin ja miten sitä edelleen voidaan vahvistaa kuin tilanteisiin, joissa pohditaan mahdollista uudelleenkouluttautumista tai siirtymää tehtävästä tai organisaatiosta toiseen.
