Abstract

Review

This paper addresses a critical challenge in public health data management, specifically within Posyandu (Integrated Healthcare Service Posts) in Indonesia. The authors accurately identify the pervasive issues associated with manual data processing for maternal and child health records, including errors, data loss, and restricted information access. These inefficiencies severely hamper effective service delivery and the crucial monitoring of child development and maternal health. To mitigate these problems, the research endeavors to develop "Sistem Informasi Manajemen Posyandu Harmoni," a digital management information system designed to streamline and enhance the structure and efficiency of health data recording and management. The system development employed the Extreme Programming (XP) methodology, a suitable agile approach known for its emphasis on short iterations, intensive user collaboration, and continuous testing, which likely contributed to its user-centric design. The core functionalities of the system are comprehensive, encompassing the management of data for toddlers (balita) and mothers (ibu), immunization records, general health examinations, and Posyandu activity reports. The evaluation phase utilized User Acceptance Testing (UAT), involving ten respondents comprising Posyandu administrators and donor representatives. The results demonstrate a remarkably high user satisfaction rate, averaging 96.4%, strongly indicating that the system effectively addresses both the functional requirements and usability expectations of its intended users. The study presents a valuable contribution by offering a practical and highly accepted digital solution to a prevalent issue in community health services. The high user acceptance rate is a significant strength, suggesting strong potential for successful implementation. While the UAT sample size of ten is appropriate for initial user acceptance, broader testing across more diverse Posyandus would further validate generalizability. The authors judiciously recommend wider implementation and, importantly, integration with regional health systems, which are crucial next steps for maximizing the system's impact and achieving comprehensive digital health ecosystems. Overall, this paper effectively demonstrates the feasibility and benefits of digitalizing Posyandu data, laying a solid foundation for improved public health monitoring and service delivery.
