Abstract

Review

The article, "Scroll, Tap, Repeat: Habitus Digital sebagai Petualangan Identitas dalam Dunia Virtual," tackles a highly pertinent and timely subject: the profound impact of digital transformation on identity formation and social relations within virtual spaces. The abstract promises an ambitious interdisciplinary literature review, drawing from sociology, media psychology, and digital studies to explore how digital habits, values, and norms coalesce into a new "habitus digital." The core argument, positing habitus digital not merely as adaptation but as a contested terrain between digital structures and individual agency, immediately positions this work as a critical and relevant contribution to the discourse on digital personhood. A significant strength lies in the comprehensive scope outlined, addressing three crucial facets of digital existence: the tension between anonymity and authenticity online, the influence of algorithmic filter bubbles on identity construction, and the observed intergenerational differences in engaging with technology. This tripartite analysis suggests a nuanced understanding of the complexities inherent in navigating virtual worlds. The articulation of "habitus digital" as a "medan kontestasi" (field of contestation) is particularly insightful, moving beyond simplistic views of technological determinism to acknowledge the dynamic interplay of individual agency within structured digital environments. The implications for reflective understanding of technology's long-term effects on self-expression, information access, and social relationships are well-articulated, highlighting the study's practical relevance. While the abstract convincingly lays out a robust theoretical framework and critical areas of analysis, a full review of the manuscript would examine how deeply the interdisciplinary sources are integrated to build the "contestation" argument. For a "kajian pustaka," the strength will ultimately lie in the rigor of literature selection, the analytical depth applied to synthesize diverse perspectives, and the specific theoretical mechanisms used to bridge the disciplinary gaps. Nevertheless, the outlined scope and critical approach suggest a valuable addition to the field. This article appears well-conceived and offers a significant contribution to understanding the evolving relationship between digital technology and human identity, making it a strong candidate for publication.
