Abstract

Penelitian ini menghasilkan, sebuah aplikasi web yang ditujukan untuk pengajuan perbaikan nilai di Politeknik Sukabumi. Tantangan utama yang dihadapi adalah sistem manual yang beragam dan sulit untuk diikuti. Aplikasi ini dibangun dengan Laravel dan MySQL serta membedakan hak akses bagi mahasiswa, dosen, dan admin. Solusi utamanya terletak pada Sistem Berbasis Aturan yang secara otomatis menentukan jenis pengajuan saat finalisasi berdasarkan tiga kriteria: nilai akhir (A sampai E), kategori mata kuliah (ilmiah/non-ilmiah), dan status periode (aktif/tidak aktif). Aturannya mudah dipahami: nilai A/B tidak dapat diajukan; hanya non-ilmiah yang boleh dilakukan Remedial saat dalam periode aktif khusus untuk nilai E, terdapat penandaan wajib untuk prioritas. Proses implementasi mencakup pengunggahan transkrip, peninjauan hasil penyaringan, pengajuan, serta verifikasi dari dosen atau admin, hingga pelaporan. Hasil dari pengujian black-box menunjukkan bahwa alur draf sampai pengajuan konsisten, proses validasi dan routing berfungsi dengan baik, dan status pengajuan tercatat secara rapi; sistem responsif terhadap skenario pengujian yang diterapkan. Sebagai kesimpulan, aplikasi ini dapat menyamakan standar keputusan, meningkatkan transparansi dalam proses, serta mendukung layanan pengajuan perbaikan nilai secara daring di lingkungan perguruan tinggi.

This paper presents the design and development of a web-based application intended to streamline student grade improvement submissions at Politeknik Sukabumi. The primary motivation for this research stems from the existing manual system, which is characterized by its diversity and difficulty to follow, leading to potential inconsistencies and administrative inefficiencies. The proposed solution is a web application, developed using Laravel and MySQL, which aims to standardize the submission process and enhance transparency for students, lecturers, and administrators through differentiated access rights. A central distinguishing feature of the application is its Rule-Based System (RBS), which automatically determines the type of submission required upon finalization. This intelligent system operates based on three key criteria: the final grade achieved (A to E), the category of the course (scientific or non-scientific), and the status of the academic period (active or inactive). The abstract provides clear examples of these rules, such as the inability to submit for grades A or B, and the specific condition that remedial submissions are only permitted for non-scientific courses with an E grade during an active period, with mandatory priority marking. The implementation process involves several stages, from transcript uploading and filtered results review to final submission, verification by relevant stakeholders, and comprehensive reporting. Black-box testing was conducted to evaluate the application's functionality, yielding positive results that confirm the consistency of the draft-to-submission workflow, the proper functioning of validation and routing mechanisms, and the accurate recording of submission statuses. Furthermore, the system demonstrated responsiveness across various testing scenarios. In conclusion, the authors assert that this application successfully standardizes decision-making processes, significantly enhances transparency within the grade improvement submission procedure, and effectively supports online academic services within the higher education environment, directly addressing the initial challenges posed by manual systems.
