Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penyebab dilakukanya pengelasan pintu tongkang kapal MJL 335, mengidentifikasi dokumen yang dibutuhkan,mendeskripsikan alur pengurusan dokumen pengelasan melalui PT Sulthan Maritim Indonesia , Serta Menganalisis kendala dan solusi selama proses pengurusan berlangsung. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif, yang diperoleh melalui observasi langsung, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengelasan dilakukan akibat kerusakan struktural seperti korosi, tekanan muatan berlebih, dan usia kapal. Dokumen yang diperlukan mencakup Surat Permohonan ke KSOP, Lembar Izin Kerja dari PT KBS, serta dokumen pendukung lainnya yang wajib diunggah melalui sistem Inaportnet dan KIPOS. Kendala teknis seperti keterlambatan dokumen, sistem bermasalah, dan inspeksi tertunda menjadi isu krusial dalam proses ini. Solusi yang diimplementasikan meliputi peningkatan komunikasi dengan pihak kapal dan otoritas pelabuhan, serta penguatan kompetensi SDM agen pelayaran. Studi ini menekankan pentingnya kolaborasi lintas instansi serta digitalisasi sistem layanan kepelabuhanan dalam mendukung efisiensi dan legalitas proses perbaikan kapal.
