Indonesia berkontribusi 25% kategori tumbuhan berbunga di tingkat dunia dengan jumlah mencapai 30.000 spesies. Tanaman buah lokal Indonesia adalah jenis tanaman berbuah yang tumbuh secara alami di wilayah Indonesia dan pada umumnya dibudidayakan oleh masyarakat. Pemanfaatan potensi dari tingginya keanekaragaman jenis dan sumber plasma nutfah buah-buahan asli Indonesia dinilai belum optimal. Tujuan penulisan ini adalah untuk memperkenalkan morfologi dan potensi enam buah lokal terpilih koleksi Kebun Raya Purwodadi (K.R. Purwodadi) (Garcinia dulcis, Diospyros discolor, Stelechocarpus burahol, Flacourtia rukam, Eugenia uniflora, dan Muntingia calabura). Pengumpulan data dilakukan pengamatan langsung di lapang. Potensi dan pemanfaatan berdasarkan studi literatur. Bentuk buah lokal memiliki bentuk yang beragam, seperti buah berbentuk apel dan berbulu halus, berbentuk kantong, dan buah berbentuk bunga dengan kulit buah tebal. Tanaman buah lokal berpotensi anti kanker, anti inflamasi, antioksidan, antidiare, analgesik, dan dapat meredakan beberapa penyakit. Banyak potensi yang didapat dari tanaman buah lokal oleh masyarakat. Perlu adanya upaya konservasi dalam menjaga kelestarian.
