Petani milenial dan konservasi budaya kerja bertani di dalam keluarga petani di desa mlandi, garung, wonosobo. Kajian ini menganalisis petani milenial, upaya konservasi budaya kerja bertani di Wonosobo di tengah pergeseran nilai dan kekurangan tenaga kerja. Inovasi dan teknologi jadi solusi.
Terjadinya pergeseran nilai-nilai budaya masyarakat dari tradisional ke dalam masyarakat modern berdampak luas, antara lain pada budaya kerja pertanian. Tujuan kajian ini menganalisis hubungan antara fenomena petani milenial dengan upaya konservasi budaya kerja bertani di kalangan petani. Bekerja adalah salah satu unsur dari tujuh unsur universal kebudayaan. Peneliti menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dan teknik penggalian data dengan observasi, partisipasi-observasi, dan wawancara mendalam. Hasil dan pembahasan menunjukkan bahwa pekerjaan bidang pertanian mengalami kekurangan tenaga kerja karena berbagai alasan. Hal ini dianggap mengkhawatirkan karena masa depan sebagai negara agraris akan kehilangan motor penggerak. Kemudian muncul inovasi gagasan dan aksi melakukan konservasi budaya kerja bertani agar aktivitas bertani tetap berjalan. Inovasi dan aksi ini dilakukan oleh petani kaya, pemerintah desa, dan generasi muda. Muncul juga fenomena petani milenial yang memanfaatkan kemajuan teknologi informasi. Sebagai saran, inovasi ini patut dicontoh oleh masyarakat petani lain sehingga anggapan bahwa bertani merupakan pekerjaan rendah yang kotor oleh lumpur dan penghasilan rendah bisa sedikit demi sedikit hilang.
This paper addresses a highly pertinent and critical issue concerning the evolving landscape of agricultural work culture in Indonesia, a nation with a strong agrarian heritage. The study’s focus on the intergenerational transfer and conservation of farming work culture, particularly within farmer families in Mlandi Village, is timely given global trends of rural-urban migration and changing youth perceptions towards agriculture. By investigating the relationship between the emergence of "Petani Milenial" (millennial farmers) and efforts to preserve traditional farming practices, the research contributes significantly to understanding socio-cultural dynamics and sustainability challenges within rural agrarian communities. Utilizing a qualitative research methodology, incorporating observation, participant-observation, and in-depth interviews, the study effectively delves into the nuances of cultural shifts and community responses. The findings reveal a concerning trend of labor shortages in the agricultural sector, underscoring the urgency for intervention to secure Indonesia's agrarian future. Importantly, the research identifies a multifaceted approach to conservation, driven by key stakeholders including wealthy farmers, the village government, and the younger generation. The emergence of "Petani Milenial," characterized by their adoption of information technology, is presented as a crucial innovative force counteracting the perceived decline of farming's appeal and maintaining agricultural activity. This study makes a valuable contribution by providing empirical insights into local-level initiatives aimed at revitalizing agricultural work culture and engaging younger generations. The identified innovations, particularly those spearheaded by "Petani Milenial" leveraging technology, offer a compelling model for addressing the negative stereotypes associated with farming as a low-status, dirty, and low-income occupation. The recommendation that these innovations be emulated by other farming communities is a practical and actionable suggestion, highlighting the direct policy relevance and potential for broader positive impact stemming from these findings.
