Abstract

To create quality human resources, good leadership is essential. Therefore, organizations must be able to maintain and even enhance the professionalism of their members to achieve their stated vision and mission. Leaders play a strategic role in an organization, as without ideal leadership, there will be no constructive collaborative effort to achieve shared goals. The 3rd Air Defense Battalion/YBY is one of the spearheads in maintaining the air defense of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI), requiring professional soldiers capable of coping with work pressures. This study aims to determine how digital leadership can enhance the professionalism of members within the 3rd Air Defense Battalion/YBY. The method used in this study is qualitative. The author, as the research instrument, obtained data through interviews with informants, observation, and document study. The results of this study indicate that the Danton's digital leadership role has not been optimally implemented within the 3rd Air Defense Battalion/YBY. This is evident in the lack of motivation and innovation among members in carrying out their duties within the unit. The implementation of Kodam protocol activities with high frequency, coupled with the continued apathy towards the main points of the leadership's wishes, exacerbates the obstacles in improving the professionalism of members in the 3/YBY Arhanud Battalion.

Review

This study addresses a highly pertinent and contemporary topic concerning the role of digital leadership in enhancing professionalism within a critical military unit, the 3rd Air Defense Battalion/YBY. The abstract effectively highlights the strategic importance of effective leadership for human resource development and achieving organizational objectives, especially in a demanding military environment tasked with national air defense. The research question, aiming to determine how digital leadership influences member professionalism, is timely given the increasing integration of digital tools and methodologies across all sectors, including the armed forces. The premise that a Danton's digital leadership can significantly impact soldier motivation and innovation is a compelling one, offering valuable insights into modern military management. The methodology employed is qualitative, utilizing interviews, observation, and document study, with the author acting as the research instrument. This approach is appropriate for an in-depth exploration of leadership dynamics within a specific organizational context. However, the abstract's key finding indicates that the Danton's digital leadership role is not optimally implemented. This is attributed to a lack of motivation and innovation among members, further exacerbated by frequent Kodam protocol activities and continued apathy towards leadership directives. While the abstract clearly states the negative outcome, a deeper exposition on what constitutes "digital leadership" in this specific military context and what specific aspects are lacking would strengthen the presentation of the problem. For the full paper, it would be beneficial to elaborate on the conceptual framework of "digital leadership" as it applies to a Danton's role within an Air Defense Battalion. Concrete examples of how digital tools or practices *could* be optimally leveraged, and how their current sub-optimal use manifests, would significantly enhance the study's contribution. Furthermore, a more detailed analysis of the interplay between Kodam protocol activities, member apathy, and the effectiveness of digital leadership could provide actionable recommendations. Ultimately, this research has the potential to offer valuable practical guidance for improving leadership training and fostering a culture of innovation and professionalism within military units facing the challenges of digital transformation.
