Introduction

Peningkatan literasi keuangan masyarakat melalui pelatihan pengelolaan keuangan praktis di desa pematang gajah, kecamatan jambi luar kota, kabupaten muaro jambi. Tingkatkan literasi keuangan masyarakat Desa Pematang Gajah melalui pelatihan pengelolaan keuangan praktis. Pelajari budgeting, arus kas, & manajemen utang untuk ketahanan ekonomi rumah tangga.

Abstract

Effective financial management is a fundamental competency for improving community welfare, particularly in rural areas where the majority of the population is engaged in informal sectors and agriculture. Although financial literacy programs have been implemented in Jambi Province, their scope has predominantly focused on urban communities or formal groups, leaving rural populations with distinct socio-economic characteristics relatively underserved. This study aims to enhance the practical financial literacy of residents in Pematang Gajah Village, through training programs tailored to the local socio-cultural context. This devotion employed a participatory approach consisting of preparation, preliminary survey, interactive training sessions, group discussions, financial record-keeping simulations, and evaluations based on participant feedback. The participants comprised housewives, micro-enterprise owners, farmers, and informal sector workers with fluctuating incomes. The findings reveal a significant improvement in participants’ understanding of basic financial concepts, skills in budgeting, cash flow recording, prudent debt management, and the adoption of simple methods such as the envelope budgeting system. Moreover, there was evidence of behavioral shifts towards more planned, disciplined, and efficiency-oriented financial management. These results indicate that locally contextualized financial literacy education has strong potential as an effective strategy to strengthen household economic resilience in rural communities.
