Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh kepemimpinan transformasional terhadap perilaku kerja inovatif dan juga menguji peran keterlibatan kerja terhadap perilaku kerja inovatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survey dengan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh karyawan hotel berbintang di Sulawesi Utara. Sampel penelitian diambil dengan teknik Convenience sampling. Terpilih 122 sampel yang dipilih secara acak dari 4 Hotel berbintang di Kota Manado. Teknik Analisis data, dijaring melalui sebaran kuesioner yang diberi nilai dan ditabulasikan untuk kemudian dianalisis dan jawaban yang diperoleh responden sesuai dengan nilai variable yang telah ditetapkan selanjutnya akan dianalisis dengan menggunakan bantuan software smartPLS, dimana teknik analisis data ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dengan pendekatan analisis Structural equation model (SEM). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kepemimpinan transformasional berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap perilaku kerja inovatif dan keterlibatan kerja. Keterlibatan kerja berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap perilaku kerja inovatif. Keterlibatan kerja memediasi hubungan antara kepemimpinan transformasional dan perilaku kerja inovatif

This study investigates the critical relationships between transformational leadership, employee involvement, and innovative work behavior within the hospitality sector. The authors aim to analyze how transformational leadership influences innovative work behavior and, importantly, to assess the mediating role of employee involvement in this relationship. This research addresses a highly relevant topic, as fostering innovation and engagement are key challenges for organizations, particularly in the dynamic service industry, and the specified objectives are clearly articulated. Employing a quantitative descriptive survey approach, the study collected data from 122 employees across four star-rated hotels in Manado, selected using convenience sampling. Questionnaires were utilized for data collection, and the collected data was subsequently analyzed using SmartPLS with a Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach. The findings consistently indicate that transformational leadership positively and significantly impacts both innovative work behavior and employee involvement. Furthermore, employee involvement is shown to positively and significantly influence innovative work behavior, and crucially, it effectively mediates the relationship between transformational leadership and innovative work behavior. The study's clear identification of a mediating mechanism through employee involvement adds valuable insight into how transformational leadership translates into innovative outcomes. The use of SEM strengthens the validity of the tested relationships. However, a notable limitation arises from the convenience sampling technique, which may restrict the generalizability of these findings beyond the specific hotels and region studied. Future research could benefit from employing probability sampling methods to enhance external validity and potentially expand the sample size to represent a broader spectrum of the North Sulawesi hospitality industry. Nonetheless, the results offer practical implications for hotel managers, emphasizing the importance of cultivating transformational leadership styles and fostering employee involvement to drive innovation within their organizations.
