This paper addresses a highly pertinent issue concerning the digital transformation of public services at the village level, focusing on Desa Petak in Gianyar Regency. The authors effectively highlight the significant challenge of underutilizing existing information technology (IT) infrastructure, such as a village website and information system, despite their presence. The core problem is identified as a multifaceted barrier, including limited IT knowledge and understanding among village officials, inadequate administrative capacity to manage these systems, and a general failure to leverage IT for optimal public service delivery. The articulated objective to directly support the Desa Petak government in overcoming these obstacles is clearly aligned with contemporary efforts to enhance digital governance in rural areas. To address these challenges, the study employs a Participatory Action Research (PAR) methodology, which is particularly well-suited for community-based interventions aiming for practical change and local empowerment. The approach involved a collaborative process where an implementation team worked directly with the village to define problems and co-create solutions. The practical interventions included targeted IT extension programs and hands-on training for village officials and administrators on utilizing information systems. This direct, engagement-focused methodology is commendable for fostering local ownership and tailoring solutions to specific local needs, moving beyond a purely top-down approach. The reported results indicate a positive initial impact, demonstrating significant improvements in the understanding and capability of the target groups. Specifically, 75.6% of village officials and 83% of village administrators reported increased comprehension of IT use and website management for public services, with an impressive 84.3% of officials understanding the information system usage. While these figures strongly suggest enhanced knowledge acquisition, the abstract would benefit from further discussion on the actual implementation and subsequent *impact* on service delivery post-training. Future research could track whether this improved understanding translates into sustained, maximal utilization of the IT platforms and tangible improvements in public service efficiency and accessibility. Nevertheless, this initiative provides valuable insights into effective strategies for bridging the digital divide in rural administration and serves as a promising model for similar contexts.
