Abstract

O foco deste artigo é o tema da genealogia na obra do médico e memorialista brasileiro Pedro Nava. Averiguando contextos e situações em que a genealogia pode ser utilizada, o autor discute o tema em passagens (auto)biográficas e digressivas das Memórias. O propósito deste estudo é examinar o modo como Pedro Nava conecta conhecimento genealógico, herança cultural, história familiar, ancestralidade genética e identidade social a fim de reconstituir o passado. O objetivo é analisar excertos das Memórias, de acordo com reflexões de Erik Erikson (1963, 1975, 1980), Paul John Eakin (2008, 2020) e Paul Ricoeur (1985, 2004), entre outros autores.
