On the exploitation of the body. Exclusion, domination and exploitation: three strands of one cloth. Explore the exploitation of the body in work, its reciprocal relationship with labor, and the ethical implications of unequal burdens and exclusion. Proposes research on the philosophy of the body.
This article examines the reciprocal relationship between the body and work, exploring how labour shapes the body and how the body, in turn, performs and signifies work. Revisiting a neglected intellectual tradition, the article proposes a programme of research grounded in the philosophy of the body and reflects on the ethical implications of the unequal distribution of labour’s burdens and rewards.
