Introduction

Narrativas em trÂnsito. Analisa a adaptação do romance "Órfãos do Eldorado" de Milton Hatoum para o cinema, focando na construção da memória e no diálogo entre literatura e filme.

Abstract

Este estudo tem por objetivo analisar como se realiza a adaptação do romance Órfãos do Eldorado para a narrativa fílmica homônima com foco na construção da memória e a relevância desse aspecto nos textos em questão. A obra foi escrita pelo autor amazonense Milton Hatoum e adaptada para o cinema no ano de 2015, sob a direção de Guilherme Coelho. Milton Hatoum é autor de grandes obras da literatura brasileira, sendo considerado um dos maiores e mais destacados escritores do país, cuja obra suscita inúmeros estudos de temas como a questão da memória, mas também de outros correlatos como conflitos familiares e identidade. Pensando nisso, com o intuito de compreender como é possível realizar a aproximação entre as linguagens literária e cinematográfica, firmando, desse modo, um diálogo entre essas artes distintas, este artigo está fundamentado em autores como Hutcheon (2013), Stam (2006) e Bazin (2018). Em relação à construção da memória, serão utilizados, principalmente, os pressupostos teóricos dos autores Assmann (2011), Freitas (2017), Candau (2010) e Halbwachs (1990).
