Abstract

Karya seni kontemporer beraliran abstrak masih belum dipahami secara luas oleh masyarakat umum, oleh karena itu, diperlukan penelitian untuk mengungkap tingkat pemahaman masyarakat terhadap karya seni tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pandangan masyarakat, baik dari kalangan pelaku seni maupun non-pelaku seni terhadap karya seni kontemporer beraliran abstrak. Karya seni kontemporer pada penelitian ini menawarkan cara pandang baru dalam memaknai seni sebagai proses mental dan emosional, khususnya pada karya seni kontemporer yang memakai aliran abstrak. Dalam penelitian ini digunakan metode kualitatif dengan melibatkan 42 responden melalui kuesioner daring menggunakan google form. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 64,3% responden menganggap seni kontemporer sulit dipahami maknanya, sementara 42,9% responden merasa seni kontemporer membingungkan namun tetap memiliki makna dan nilai estetika. Temuan ini menekankan pentingnya pemahaman yang lebih mendalam dan apresiasi masyarakat terhadap seni kontemporer beraliran abstrak, selain itu, pengembangan edukasi melalui media digital dapat menjadi langkah strategis untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan apresiasi tersebut.
