Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pentingnya konteks sejarah dalam memahami Al-Qur'an serta menelaah dampak yang ditimbulkan oleh tafsir ahistoris dalam tradisi penafsiran Islam. Kajian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh masih ditemukannya kecenderungan penafsiran yang memisahkan teks Al-Qur'an dari konteks sosial, budaya, dan historis yang melatarbelakangi proses pewahyuan. Penelitian menggunakan metode penelitian kepustakaan (library research) dengan pendekatan deskriptif-analitis. Data diperoleh dari Al-Qur'an, kitab-kitab tafsir, literatur Ulum al-Qur'an, serta berbagai buku dan jurnal ilmiah yang relevan dengan tema penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konteks sejarah merupakan fondasi penting dalam memahami pesan Al-Qur'an secara komprehensif. Pengabaian terhadap aspek historis melahirkan tafsir ahistoris yang berpotensi menimbulkan distorsi makna, terutama pada ayat-ayat yang berkaitan dengan jihad, relasi gender, dan hubungan antaragama. Selain itu, tafsir ahistoris juga berdampak pada munculnya sikap intoleran, radikalisme, serta stagnasi intelektual dalam tradisi keilmuan Islam. Oleh karena itu, pembacaan historis terhadap Al-Qur'an menjadi suatu keniscayaan metodologis agar pesan universal Al-Qur'an dapat dipahami secara lebih proporsional, kontekstual, dan relevan dengan perkembangan zaman tanpa mengabaikan otoritas wahyu. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa integrasi antara teks dan konteks merupakan langkah penting dalam menghasilkan penafsiran Al-Qur'an yang lebih adil, moderat, dan bertanggung jawab.
