Rezultati raziskave, izvedene leta 2022 (N=300), so na podlagi samorefleksije sodelujočih glede lastne percepcije integracije s strukturnega, kulturnega, interakcijskega in identifikacijskega vidika potrdili obstoj medgeneracijskih razlik.
The paper, titled "Medgeneracijske razlike pri integraciji manjšin v večinsko družbo: Primer Hrvatov v Sloveniji" (Intergenerational Differences in Minority Integration into Majority Society: The Case of Croats in Slovenia), presents a timely and relevant exploration of immigrant integration dynamics. Utilizing the theoretical lens of segmented assimilation, the study aims to ascertain whether intergenerational differences exist in the integration process of Croats in Slovenia. The abstract clearly articulates the core objective and theoretical foundation, setting the stage for an investigation into the multi-faceted nature of integration across generations. A significant strength of this research lies in its empirical foundation, drawing on data from a survey conducted in 2022 with a substantial sample size (N=300). The study's confirmation of intergenerational differences, based on participants' self-perceptions across structural, cultural, interactional, and identificational aspects of integration, offers a valuable contribution to the literature on minority integration. By focusing on Croats in Slovenia, the paper provides a specific case study that enriches our understanding of integration processes within a particular socio-cultural and political context, moving beyond broad generalizations and highlighting the nuances often overlooked. The multi-dimensional approach to integration is particularly commendable, recognizing the complexity of the phenomenon. While the abstract confirms the presence of intergenerational differences, it leaves several aspects for further consideration and detail in the full paper. The reliance on "self-reflection" regarding perceptions of integration, while insightful, warrants a deeper discussion on potential subjective biases and how these were addressed in the methodology. Furthermore, the abstract only states *that* differences exist, without elaborating on the *nature* or *extent* of these differences across generations or across the four integration dimensions. Future discussions could also benefit from exploring the specific factors contributing to these observed differences, and the implications for policy and social cohesion. A more detailed outline of the methodology, including sampling strategy and specific measures for each integration dimension, would enhance the overall contribution of the full paper.
