This study aims to examine the local wisdom values contained in the traditional food dayak-dayak in the community of Gampong Batee Meucanang, Labuhanhaji Barat District, South Aceh Regency. Dayak-dayak is a traditional food inherited from ancestors that has strong cultural values and is still preserved to this day, especially in death rituals. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that dayak-dayak not only functions as traditional food, but also as a symbol of respect for the deceased, especially in the tradition of cooking it on the third day after the funeral. The local wisdom values contained in this food include the values of togetherness, honor, and concern, which are reflected in the active participation of the community, especially women, in the process of making it. This research contributes to the development of science, especially in the study of cultural anthropology and the preservation of intangible cultural heritage, and becomes an important reference in understanding the dynamics of social values in the culinary practices of local communities.

Without this clarification, the title may inadvertently mislead readers about the cultural context and origins of the food. Despite this terminological ambiguity, the research offers a valuable initial exploration of an important local culinary tradition and its associated social dynamics. By documenting the role of "dayak-dayak" in death rituals and the values it embodies, the study provides a snapshot of cultural resilience and community cohesion in South Aceh. To further enhance its impact, future research could delve deeper into the etymology of the food's name, explore the specific ingredients and preparation techniques in greater detail to further elucidate the "local wisdom," and consider how these traditions adapt or persist in the face of modernization. Overall, this paper serves as a significant step in documenting a unique cultural practice, provided the contextual and terminological aspects are rigorously addressed.
