The abstract effectively introduces the intriguing premise that local culinary traditions, specifically Tepa Slira and Empan Papan in Kudus, Indonesia, transcend their gastronomic function to embody fundamental values of tolerance and mutual respect. This interdisciplinary approach, linking foodways with societal harmony, offers a refreshing perspective on the practical application of tolerance in diverse communities, making a significant contribution to discussions on multiculturalism and local wisdom. The research design, utilizing a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews, appears robust and well-suited to uncover the nuanced understandings held by various community stakeholders, including leaders, religious figures, and culinary practitioners.
