The proposed paper, "¿Le interesa Esparta a la ultraderecha española?", addresses a timely and significant topic concerning the appropriation of historical and cultural narratives by contemporary political movements. The research question is remarkably clear and immediately establishes the article's focus on the Spanish far-right's potential engagement with the Spartan mythos. By specifically filtering the perception of Sparta through the lens of the film "300," the study adeptly acknowledges the popular mediation of historical figures, which is crucial for understanding its contemporary political utility. This approach promises a valuable contribution to interdisciplinary fields, bridging ancient history, cultural studies, and political science. The abstract effectively outlines a nuanced comparative analysis. It aims to determine whether the Spanish far-right's utilization of Sparta mirrors that seen in other Western European and American contexts, thereby contributing to a broader understanding of radical right rhetoric across different geographical and cultural landscapes. Crucially, the research explicitly names Vox, a prominent Spanish far-right party, as a key subject of investigation. This granular focus allows for a deeper exploration of the specific elements from the Spartan narrative that these groups choose to appropriate, and more importantly, the underlying reasons for these selections. This focus on "how" and "why" promises to move beyond mere identification of references to a more profound analysis of ideological construction. This work holds significant potential to enhance our understanding of how popular culture artifacts can be weaponized in political discourse, particularly by the radical right. By meticulously examining the specific case of Sparta and the film "300" in Spain, the study can illuminate both universal patterns in far-right communication strategies and unique national specificities. The comparative dimension is particularly strong, offering insights into trans-national ideological currents while simultaneously identifying local adaptations. Overall, the proposed research is well-conceived, promises robust analytical depth, and is poised to make an important scholarly contribution to the study of political extremism and cultural history.
