Review

This study embarks on a pertinent analysis of William Wordsworth's "The World is Too Much with Us," aiming to unravel the complex relationship between humanity and nature as articulated within the poem. The research question is well-defined, addressing a thematic core that remains profoundly relevant in the contemporary landscape, especially concerning the ecological ramifications of technological progress. By revisiting a classic of English Romanticism, the study positions itself to offer insights into enduring humanistic concerns that resonate with current environmental debates. The selection of this particular poem is commendable, as it stands as a concise yet powerful lament against society's disconnect from the natural world. The methodology employed is the expressive approach, which focuses on the author's ideas, thoughts, and feelings as expressed in the literary work. This approach is conceptually appropriate for analyzing a Romantic poet like Wordsworth, whose personal subjective experience and emotional connection to nature are central to his oeuvre. However, the abstract's description of the method could benefit from a clearer articulation of *how* this approach will be concretely applied to the poem. For instance, while it states the method connects the work to the author's imagination and feelings, it doesn't elaborate on the specific analytical tools or textual evidence that will be scrutinized to unveil these authorial expressions. The inclusion of "figurative languages" as a keyword, without explicit mention of its analytical role in the abstract's methodological section, suggests a potential area for further detail in the full paper. The study concludes that the relationship between humans and nature is disharmonious, leading to significant environmental issues such as pollution, erosion, and global warming. This finding aligns with common interpretations of Wordsworth's poignant critique of the materialistic concerns that alienate humanity from nature. The abstract effectively conveys the core message derived from the analysis, underscoring the poem's continued relevance as a prophetic warning. Overall, this research promises to be a valuable contribution to the ongoing discourse surrounding environmental literature and the enduring human-nature dynamic, reinforcing the timeless wisdom embedded in Wordsworth's verse for modern ecological consciousness.
