Abstract

Berdasarkan uji Chi Square diperoleh nilai p = 0,014.

Review

This study, titled "Hubungan Antara Literasi Kesehatan Dengan Kualitas Hidup Siswa SMKN 9 Kota Tangerang," addresses a highly relevant and timely topic concerning the health literacy and quality of life among adolescents, a critical population for public health interventions. The abstract clearly outlines the objective of investigating the relationship between these two variables within a specific student cohort. Methodologically, the research employs a robust quantitative approach, utilizing established and adapted instruments (HLS-EU-SQ-10 IDN and WHOQOL-BREF) for data collection with a substantial sample size of 212 students. The use of Chi-Square for statistical analysis is appropriate for examining associations between categorical variables, and the abstract indicates a statistically significant finding (p = 0.014), suggesting a relationship between the variables. While the study's aim is clear, the initial contextual information provided in the abstract could be more precisely focused. The extensive discussion on general literacy rates and reading interest in Indonesia, while important nationally, feels somewhat tangential without a more direct link to *health* literacy or the specific adolescent adolescent demographic being studied. Similarly, the international comparison of quality of life statistics lacks immediate relevance to the specific study population without further elucidation. Furthermore, the presentation of results primarily highlights specific counts and percentages (e.g., 4 students with problematic health literacy but good quality of life), which, while interesting, do not fully convey the nature or strength of the relationship identified by the Chi-Square test. The abstract would benefit from explicitly stating the direction of the association and, if available, an effect size measure to allow readers to gauge the practical significance of the findings beyond statistical significance. The limitation of a single vocational school setting also suggests potential constraints on the generalizability of the findings. Despite these observations, this study makes an important contribution by exploring the interplay between health literacy and quality of life in a crucial demographic. The identified significant association warrants further investigation and could inform targeted educational programs. For the full paper, a more in-depth discussion of the implications of these findings for school health initiatives and policy development would be valuable. Future research could consider expanding the sample to multiple schools or regions, incorporating longitudinal designs to assess causal pathways, or employing mixed methods to gain deeper qualitative insights into student experiences. Overall, the study presents a solid foundation for understanding this critical relationship, and the full manuscript should elaborate on the nuances and broader implications of its findings.
