Review

This manuscript addresses a highly relevant issue concerning maternal and infant health: the prevalence of myths and misconceptions surrounding nutrition and dietary practices among breastfeeding mothers. The paper clearly outlines a community service initiative, “Holistic Talks,” designed to educate participants on evidence-based facts versus common myths. The clear objective of improving knowledge to support exclusive breastfeeding is commendable, and the pre-post test design effectively demonstrates a significant improvement in participants' knowledge scores. The structured approach to the educational activity, targeting both cadres and breastfeeding mothers, underscores a practical and impactful contribution to public health education. While the intervention demonstrates a statistically significant improvement in knowledge, the methodology section, characteristic of community service reports, could benefit from further detail for a journal publication. Specifically, a more comprehensive description of the content covered within the "Holistic Talks" beyond the general topic of "facts and myths" would enhance replicability and understanding of the intervention's depth. Information on the specific instrument used for knowledge assessment (pre-test and post-test questions) and how the 'ability to practice' was evaluated or inferred from knowledge scores would also strengthen the evidence. Given the relatively small sample size of 35 participants, while appropriate for a community outreach program, it naturally limits the generalizability of the findings, a common consideration for such interventions. In conclusion, this work presents a valuable and well-executed community education program that successfully improved knowledge among its target audience regarding breastfeeding nutrition. The findings underscore the importance of targeted interventions to dispel myths that hinder optimal infant feeding practices. For future research or more formal journal submissions stemming from such initiatives, incorporating a more detailed methodological framework, including a deeper dive into the specific content of the educational module and a direct assessment of behavioral changes beyond knowledge improvement, would further enhance its academic rigor and impact. Nonetheless, the current report effectively highlights the immediate positive impact of "Holistic Talks" on community knowledge.
