Introduction

Abstract

Efikasi diri merupakan keyakinan seseorang akan kemampuannya untuk melakukan suatu bentuk kontrol terhadap diri sendiri dan kejadian dilingkungannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bentuk keyakinan responden dalam menghadapi berbagai tingkat kesulitan dalam memenuhi kebutuhan dasar keluarga. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner yang diisi oleh 20 orang responden yang dipilih secara purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa mantan warga binaan pemasyarakatan di Desa Sindangsari, Kabupaten Garut memiliki rasa kurang yakin dalam menjalankan tugas untuk memenuhi kebutuhan dasar keluarga. Rasa kurang yakin tersebut mencerminkan bahwa efikasi diri pada mantan warga binaan pemasyarakatan tergolong rendah dari setiap aspek efikasi diri, yaitu berdasarkan aspek tingkat (level) yaitu keyakinan responden dalam menghadapi berbagai tingkat kesulitan, kemudian aspek kekuatan (strength) yaitu keyakinan responden mengenai kekuatannya dalam melaksanakan tugas, serta aspek generalisasi (generality) yaitu keyakinan responden akan kemampuannya dalam melaksanakan tugas diberbagai aktifitas, dari ketiga aspek tersebut, skor menunjukan bahwa efikasi diri yang dimiliki mantan warga binaan pemasyarakatan tersebut rendah. Berdasarkan temuan penelitian diperlukan program pengembangan softskill pada mantan warga binaan pemasyarakatan agar meningkatkan kepercayaan diri dan memiliki keyakinan dalam pemenuhan kebutuhan dasar keluarga.

Utilizing a quantitative approach, the research aimed to understand the confidence levels of these individuals when confronted with varying difficulties in family provision. Based on questionnaire responses from 20 purposively sampled respondents in Sindangsari Village, Garut Regency, the findings reveal a low sense of self-efficacy among former inmates. This low self-efficacy manifests across all measured aspects—level, strength, and generality—indicating a significant challenge in their belief in their capacity to fulfill their responsibilities. While the paper addresses an important and under-researched social issue concerning the reintegration and family support systems for former inmates, the methodological choices present several limitations. A primary concern is the very small sample size of just 20 respondents, which severely curtails the generalizability of the findings and raises questions about the statistical robustness of the conclusions. The abstract also lacks detailed information regarding the specific nature of the questionnaire used (e.g., whether it's a validated scale or a custom instrument) and the particular statistical analyses performed beyond reporting scores, making it difficult to fully assess the reliability and validity of the measurements. Furthermore, limiting the study to a single village inherently restricts its external validity. Despite these limitations, the study's practical recommendation for developing soft skill programs for former inmates is a valuable contribution, highlighting a clear area for intervention to boost their confidence and capabilities. To enhance future research in this critical domain, it is strongly advised to utilize larger, more representative samples and incorporate more rigorous methodological details, including the use of validated self-efficacy scales and transparent reporting of statistical analyses. Future studies could also benefit from adopting a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative data with qualitative insights, to gain a deeper understanding of the factors influencing self-efficacy and to inform the development of more comprehensive and effective reintegration programs.
