Media sosial TikTok menjadi salah satu platform digital yang banyak diminati anak-anak usia sekolah dasar, termasuk siswa kelas VI SD Negeri Kalisari Batang.
The study titled "DAMPAK PENGGUNAAN TIKTOK BAGI PERKEMBANGAN PERILAKU ANAK KELAS VI SD NEGERI KALISARI KABUPATEN BATANG" addresses a highly pertinent and contemporary issue concerning the influence of social media, specifically TikTok, on elementary school children. Given TikTok's widespread popularity among young users, this research is timely and essential for understanding its effects on behavioral development. The primary objective of this qualitative, phenomenological study was to explore and describe the impact of TikTok usage on the behavioral development of sixth-grade students at SD Negeri Kalisari Batang, employing a robust data collection strategy involving observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation with key stakeholders. The findings reveal a nuanced and dual-faceted impact of TikTok use on students' behavior. On the positive side, the research highlights an increase in creativity, enhanced courage for self-expression, and boosted learning motivation, particularly when students engage with educational content. This suggests that TikTok, when utilized judiciously, can serve as a beneficial tool for developmental growth. However, the study also identifies significant negative repercussions, including a noticeable decrease in learning focus, a troubling tendency to imitate negative behaviors from viral content, increased gadget dependency, and a decline in direct social interaction with peers. These negative findings underscore critical concerns for parents and educators. The implications of this research are significant, particularly the strong recommendation for active and synergistic involvement from both teachers and parents in supervising and guiding children's TikTok usage. While the qualitative and localized nature of the study provides rich, in-depth insights into a specific context, it inherently limits the generalizability of the findings to a broader population. Future research could build upon these foundational insights by employing quantitative methods across larger and more diverse samples to validate the observed trends. Additionally, investigating the effectiveness of specific parental and educational interventions designed to mitigate the negative impacts and maximize the positive potential of TikTok would be a valuable next step.
