Analisis vegetasi gulma invasif pada dua lahan perkebunan jagung di kelurahan koya barat, distrik muara tami, kota jayapura. Teliti komposisi & struktur vegetasi gulma invasif pada dua perkebunan jagung di Koya Barat, Jayapura. Temukan 11 famili, 23 spesies, dominasi Euphorbia heterophylla & Synedrella nodiflora.
This study provides a valuable baseline analysis of invasive weed vegetation in two corn plantations in the Koya Barat area of Jayapura, addressing a topic of significant relevance to agricultural productivity and ecological management. The authors meticulously applied a quadrat method, employing a robust sampling design with multiple transects and plots across two distinct plantation sites. The stated objective to determine the species composition and vegetation structure of invasive weeds was clearly met, yielding a comprehensive inventory of the weed community present. The methodical approach and clear objective lay a solid foundation for understanding the initial ecological landscape of these agricultural areas. The findings reveal a substantial presence of invasive species, identifying 11 families and 23 distinct species, comprising a total of 3429 individual plants across both locations. Notably, the study successfully pinpointed the dominant invasive species for each plantation: *Euphorbia heterophylla* in plantation 1 (IVI = 38.53) and *Synedrella nodiflora* in plantation 2 (IVI = 62.06). This differentiation is critical for developing site-specific management strategies. The reported medium diversity index across both sites suggests a moderately complex weed community, while the 'increasingly even' distribution indicates a relatively stable and widespread presence of these invasive species. These insights are crucial for understanding the ecological dynamics and potential challenges in weed control within these corn cultivation systems. In conclusion, this research makes an important contribution by characterizing invasive weed communities in a specific agricultural region of Jayapura, offering foundational data for local farmers and policymakers. The identification of dominant species and the assessment of diversity and evenness provide practical insights essential for designing targeted and sustainable weed management strategies. To further enhance the impact of this work, future studies could expand upon these findings by investigating the environmental drivers behind the observed species dominance, quantifying the specific impacts of these invasive weeds on corn yield, or exploring the efficacy of different control measures. This study serves as a commendable first step towards informed decision-making for managing invasive species in the agricultural landscapes of the region.
