Abstract

Work fatigue is a process of decreasing work efficiency, work performance and lack of endurance or physical strength of the body when continuously carrying out work activities. Drivers who feel tired will find it difficult to concentrate and become less alert, putting them at risk of traffic accidents. This research aims to determine the relationship between work fatigue and working age, driving duration, and rest time, for inter-city transportation drivers within the province. The research design used was cross sectional with a sample size of 47 people. Data was obtained using a research questionnaire and then univariate and bivariate data analysis was carried out. The research results show that there is a relationship between age and work fatigue with a value of p=0.000, there is a relationship between work fatigue and driving duration with a value of p=0.001, and there is no relationship between rest time and work fatigue with a value of p=0.062. The conclusion from the analysis results is that from the research variables it was found that age and work duration have a relationship with the occurrence of work fatigue, while rest time has no relationship with the occurrence of work fatigue. The advice from this research is to ensure that vulnerable people do not force themselves to work for long periods of time, and to take time to rest.
