Abstract

O ato (re)nomear, caracterizar e classificar as coisas ao seu redor é uma atividade fundamental do ser humano. Todos esses processos refletem a visão singular que cada indivíduo tem acerca do mundo, a sua identidade e sua pertença a grupos sociais. Tendo em visto isso, este trabalho teve como objetivo analisar, sob uma perspectiva sociodialetal, a variação semântico-lexical resultante da aplicação das questões 093 - “... a pessoa que tem os dentes grandes?” e 110 - “E a pessoa que é muito magra”, pertencentes ao Questionário Semântico-Lexical, do Atlas Linguístico do Maranhão (QSL/ALiMA). Neste estudo, consideramos os dados obtidos na mesorregião Leste do Maranhão, que abrange os municípios de Brejo (MA13), Caxias (MA12), Codó (MA17), São João dos Patos (MA11) e Araioses (MA14). Nessa perspectiva, esta pesquisa se fundamenta nos pressupostos teórico-metodológicos da Dialetologia e da Geolinguística Pluridimensional, desenvolvidos essencialmente por Cardoso (2010), Ramos, Bezerra e Rocha (2010), Aragão (2001), Razky (2010), dentre outros. Os dados linguísticos serão apresentados por meio de cartas linguísticas, geradas pelo Software de Geração e Visualização de Cartas Linguísticas (SGVClin, 2014-15). Diante dos dados analisados, constatou-se, como esperado, uma maior expressividade da variação diatópica em ambas as questões. Dessa forma, este estudo pode favorecer uma melhor compreensão dos fatores extralinguísticos mais característicos, identitários e representativos do português maranhense, em especial, do diatópico.
