Abstract

Este artigo investiga a relação entre violência política, meios de comunicação e hospitalidade na literatura distópica, analisando Complô contra a América, de Philip Roth (2005), e QualityLand, de Marc-Uwe Kling (2020). Partindo das reflexões de Pedro Doria (2024) sobre a banalização da violência política, o estudo explora como os meios de comunicação estruturam conflitos ideológicos e contribuem para a formação de inimigos internos. Utilizando o conceito de hospitalidade de Derrida (1999), discute-se a transformação do acolhimento em hostilidade no romance de Roth (2005), em que o rádio funciona como ferramenta de disseminação do antissemitismo. Em QualityLand, a mediação da realidade pelos algoritmos ilustra como a tecnologia redefine o controle social e político na contemporaneidade. A partir de autores como McLuhan (1969), Zuboff (2021) e Bauman (1999), o artigo argumenta que a violência política não é apenas reflexo do discurso dos líderes, mas um fenômeno amplificado pelos meios que estruturam a comunicação. Por fim, questiona-se o papel dos algoritmos na intensificação da polarização e na erosão da autonomia democrática.
