Review

The submitted literature review, "Studi Literatur Menjawab Tantangan Keperawatan Gawat Darurat dan Kritis," addresses a highly pertinent and critical area within healthcare: emergency and critical care nursing. The abstract clearly outlines the study's objective to explore challenges and best practices in emergency nursing, emphasizing the vital role of nurses in providing immediate care in life-threatening situations and the importance of continuous education. Given the increasing global demand for high-quality emergency services, this topic holds significant relevance for hospital administrators, nursing educators, and practitioners seeking to enhance patient outcomes and safety in acute care settings. The methodology described involves a literature search across several reputable databases, including CINAHL, Scopus, PubMed, IARS, and Google Scholar, covering a broad period from 2010-2024, using "emergency nursing" as the primary keyword. While the selection of databases and timeframe is appropriate, the reported yield of only eight related articles raises questions regarding the specificity and comprehensiveness of the search strategy. A more detailed explanation of search terms, inclusion/exclusion criteria, and the article selection process would strengthen this section. The key findings, indicating that improved nurse skills/knowledge and adequate managerial support positively impact patient outcomes and nurse performance, are generally consistent with existing literature but lack the granular detail one would expect from a comprehensive review. Specific examples of these skills, knowledge areas, or types of managerial support would add considerable value. The conclusion reiterates the necessity for hospitals to develop effective strategies in emergency nursing management to enhance care quality and patient safety, a commendable and vital recommendation. However, based solely on the abstract, the review does not explicitly delineate what these "effective strategies" might entail, nor does it deeply explore the specific "challenges" alluded to in the title and introduction beyond a general acknowledgement. For future iterations or a full manuscript, identifying and analyzing particular challenges (e.g., burnout, staffing shortages, complex patient presentations, resource allocation) and correlating them with specific best practices and educational interventions would substantially enrich the paper's contribution. Nevertheless, the study successfully highlights key areas for intervention and improvement in emergency nursing, laying a foundation for further in-depth exploration.
