Abstract

Na contemporaneidade, os fluxos migratórios têm sido mais numerosos, rápidos, diversificados e complexos. As representações sociais (RS) são produtos de um processo ativo de apropriação da realidade, fazendo a mediação entre o indivíduo e o grupo. RS polêmicas de imigrantes estão presentes no imaginário social, com dimensões como os estereótipos e os valores, que têm papéis específicos na formação de atitudes. Este estudo analisa as produções científicas brasileiras e internacionais disponíveis na literatura sobre as RS de imigrantes para diversos grupos sociais, por meio de revisão integrativa. O número de artigos sobre RS de imigrantes para os nacionais é maior em comparação às RS de imigrantes para imigrantes, que ao não serem ouvidos e não tendo voz, não participam de sua própria representação. Os artigos discutem, em geral, os processos adaptativos, identitários, sociais, políticos, e principalmente os estereótipos e discriminações vivenciados no processo migratório. Interseccionalidades como raça, gênero e religião estão presentes nas RS sobre imigração e imigrantes, podendo atuar como facilitadores ou complicadores do processo migratório. Vê-se o quanto as RS que circulam são polêmicas, apresentando nas diversas esferas discursos contraditórios, com sentimentos ambivalentes, representando a polarização em torno da temática.
