Perancangan cover digipak album fisik ”sejak tak lagi bersama” karya gunsaleh berbasis augmented reality. Inovasi desain cover Digipak album fisik "Sejak Tak Lagi Bersama" Gunsaleh berbasis Augmented Reality. Tawarkan pengalaman interaktif baru bagi musisi indie dan penggemar.
The advancement of technology today has driven a significant transformation in the music industry, particularly for independent musicians. One of the challenges faced is the declining interest in physical albums due to the dominance of streaming platforms. This final project aims to create an innovative visual solution by designing a physical album integrated with Augmented Reality (AR), focusing on the album "Sejak Tak Lagi Bersama" by Gunsaleh, an indie musician from Malang. This approach not only serves as a visual communication strategy but also enhances audience engagement through interactive experiences. The design process employs a qualitative method, including literature studies, interviews, and visual observations. The visual concept utilizes the cactus as a representation of emotional resilience reflected in the songs’ narratives, applied through illustrations, layout, color schemes, and interactive elements. The album consists of eight panels, each measuring 15 x 15 cm, which can be scanned using a supporting application to activate AR content, adding both aesthetic and functional value. The main output of this project is an interactive physical album, accompanied by supporting media such as a display box, NFC keychain, journal, and other merchandise. The result is expected to serve as a reference for the development of technology-based visual design for independent musicians in Indonesia, and to offer a new alternative for experiencing physical music in the current era.
This project, titled "PERANCANGAN COVER DIGIPAK ALBUM FISIK ”SEJAK TAK LAGI BERSAMA” KARYA GUNSALEH BERBASIS AUGMENTED REALITY," addresses a highly pertinent issue in the contemporary music industry: the struggle of physical albums, particularly for independent artists, against the backdrop of dominant streaming platforms. The initiative to integrate Augmented Reality (AR) into a physical album cover represents a forward-thinking and commendable effort to revitalize interest in the tangible music experience. The abstract clearly articulates a novel approach to enhance audience engagement and provide a new avenue for visual communication for indie musicians, making it a timely and relevant contribution to design and music studies. The project's methodology, employing a qualitative approach encompassing literature studies, interviews, and visual observations, appears sound for a design-centric endeavor. A significant strength lies in its specific application to Gunsaleh's album "Sejak Tak Lagi Bersama," utilizing the cactus as a compelling visual metaphor for emotional resilience, which is then translated into intricate illustrations, layout, and color schemes across eight 15x15 cm panels. The proposed interactive element, where these panels can be scanned via a supporting application to activate AR content, is a key innovation designed to add both aesthetic depth and functional value. The concrete output, an interactive physical album complemented by a display box, NFC keychain, and other merchandise, demonstrates a comprehensive and well-rounded design strategy. The potential impact of this project is substantial, offering a valuable reference for technology-based visual design for independent musicians in Indonesia and potentially beyond. It provides a creative alternative for experiencing physical music in an era dominated by digital formats. While the abstract effectively outlines the design process and outputs, future discussions could delve deeper into the specific types of AR content envisioned (e.g., animations, interviews, additional tracks), the technical feasibility and cost implications for widespread adoption by indie artists, and initial user reception or usability testing insights. Nonetheless, this project stands out as a significant contribution to exploring innovative intersections of technology, art, and music marketing, meriting attention for its originality and practical application.
