Овај рад се бави двојаким тумачењем термина бројеница: као дечије разбрајалице и као шаљиве или љубавне песме коју певају одрасли. Док се дечије бројенице углавном рецитативно изговарају, бројенице одраслих се могу певати на неколико различитих начина.
