Lumbung Mataraman is a replicable model for sustainable, community-driven resilience strategies inother regions by integrating traditional food security mechanisms with contemporary development frameworks.
This paper presents a timely and highly relevant investigation into the Lumbung Mataraman program's role in bolstering food security within the Special Region of Yogyakarta, specifically addressing Sustainable Development Goal 2 (Zero Hunger). The study employs a qualitative approach across diverse agroecological contexts in Sleman, Bantul, and Gunungkidul, utilizing a robust data collection methodology including participatory observation, in-depth interviews with various stakeholders, and policy document analysis. Given the global imperative for sustainable food systems, this research offers significant insights into community-driven resilience strategies. The abstract effectively highlights several key strengths and compelling findings. The program's success in enhancing local food availability, resilience, and fostering community empowerment, institutional coordination, and the preservation of local wisdom are notable achievements. Furthermore, the emphasis on gender inclusion, sustainable agricultural practices, and the strengthening of the rural socio-economic fabric underscores the multifaceted benefits of Lumbung Mataraman. The conceptualization of this program as a replicable model that successfully integrates traditional food security mechanisms with contemporary development frameworks is particularly promising, suggesting its potential applicability beyond the study region. While the abstract clearly articulates the program's successes, a full paper would benefit from a more detailed exploration of the *mechanisms* through which these outcomes are achieved, perhaps delving into specific examples of how institutional coordination or community empowerment actively translate into improved food security. To further strengthen its contribution as a replicable model, the research could also elaborate on the specific challenges encountered during the program's implementation and how these were mitigated, providing a more balanced perspective on its operational complexities. Additionally, a deeper analysis of the interplay between traditional wisdom and contemporary development frameworks would enrich the understanding of its adaptability and sustainability in varied contexts. This would undoubtedly enhance the paper's impact and practical utility for policymakers and practitioners seeking to implement similar initiatives.
